A social weekend with the opportunity to learn the basics of GPS navigation

Love them or hate them - there is no doubt that satellite navigation devices are becoming a part of our lives and for the motorcyclists a useful aid to the trusty map.  Indeed on all our continental tours - for those that request them - we provide our proposed routes in a file suitable for loading straight onto your Garmin satellite Navigator, saving you considerable time and effort doing it yourself. These files can also be adapted for other makes of navigator such as Tom Tom.

However over the years, it as become evident that many people would like to have a better understanding of not only how GPS works, but how better to make use of out of their navigators.  We have therefore teamed up with a company specialising in GPS training to put together a half days course on the basics of using Garmin GPS navigators.

Because we have also had requests for a social weekend, we have decided this would be an excellent excuse to combine the two together, therefore the course will be held on Saturday 24th April and will be available as either a day course or in addition to a two night Dinner B&B  package. We have no ride-out planned, so its choice as to whether you arrive by bike or car.

The actual course will be limited to just 25 people, and although useful to all, will be based on the use of Garmin equipment and software.  Although there will be some equipment on hand, we recommend you bring your own navigator, also a laptop if you have one.  Anyone wanting to just attend the day course are welcome, but must register beforehand - likewise if do not wish to do the course, this is an ideal chance to have a day in the Lakes or Dales, meet up with old friends and have a weekend away from home.

Tour Format

Day 2: Saturday 24th April   If you have planned not to attend the GPS course - you could not be in a better location from which to take a tour of the Lakes District, Yorkshire Dales, Northern Pennines or numerous other destinations. Your Guide will be able to advise you on some lovely routes and places to vist .
