Bavaria is Germany’s biggest federal state bordering with Austria to the south and the Czech Republic to the east. For many, Bavaria is best known for Munich and its annual Beer Festival - however, with its medieval towns, scenic countryside and alpine roads; it also has much more to offer.
The tour is priced using the overnight Hull-Rotterdam ferry. However, we are happy to arrange alternative crossings and adjust costs accordingly. * If your time is limited, you could - if you prefer - reduce your tour by two nights, by travelling Dover to Calais on Saturday 5th July and returning Saturday 12th July.

Day 1: Friday 4th July Today, you should make your way to Hull, where we catch the P&O overnight ferry to Rotterdam. It is possible to board early evening, which then allows plenty of time to relax and enjoy the onboard facilities. A 2 berth en-suite cabin, evening meal and breakfast are included in your package. (Alternative crossings available - see below)
Day 2: Saturday 5th July (275 miles) An 8am arrival means we get a good start for our journey across Holland and into Germany. Our first nights stop is a 4 star hotel in the Mosel Valley.
Day 3: Sunday 6th July (206 miles) Following an overnight stop, we continue westwards towards the popular tourist town of Wurzburg, where we pick up the famous Romantische Strasse (Romantic Road). This ancient road has been used as a trade route since Roman times, but today it is a popular tourist route, as it meanders alongside the Tauber river, through numerous picturesque villages and vineyards. Our day ends at the beautiful walled city of Rothenburg. This is considered by many to be one of the best preserved medieval towns in Germany - it is possible to walk around the wall that encircles the town, which gives a fantastic view of this living museum. Our hotel tonight will be a 3 star hotel in the very heart of the city. Secure parking and an evening meal are included.
Day 4: Monday 7th July (183 miles) Leaving Rothenburg, we continue our route southwards, skirting Munich the areas capital, before arriving at our accommodation for the next three days - a three star bike friendly hotel, set in a typical Bavarian working village.
Days 5 & 6: Tuesday 8th - Wednesday 9th July (free days) There is so much to do here, that two days are hardly enough. Some trips you may like to consider include: Berchtesgarden - a beautiful mountainous region, with the opportunity to visit a salt mine; or the more famous summer retreat of Adolf Hitler, better known as “The Eagles Nest”; the beautiful old town of Salzburg - now a world heritage site and the backdrop for much of the film “Sound of Music”; Fussen, where you will see the Schloss Neushwanstein, an archetypal fairy-tale castle that has provided inspiration for countless storybooks, and a certain Disneyland castle; and Munich - better known for its Beer Festival, is a stunning city in its own right. So the list goes on - if you prefer something more demanding, to the south is a bikers’ playground with numerous mountain passes to ride - no more so than the famous Grossglockner.
Day 7: Thursday 10th July (228 miles) - leaving Bavaria behind we ride westwards to enter the German Black Forest. Your hotel tonight is a family run hotel in the middle of the forest.
Day 8: Friday 11th July (182 miles) No visit to the Black Forest would be complete without riding the famous “Black Forest High Street”. This scenic road, some 40 kilometres long, takes you through some of the prettiest parts of the Black Forest. Occasionally breaking out of the trees, it offers some great panoramic views, however it is better known as one of the classic biking roads, as it twists and turns along its way. Leaving the forest behind, we cross the mighty Rhine to our next overnight’s stop in the Lorraine region.
Day 9: Saturday 12th July (252 miles) Today sees us complete our journey, as we ride the final miles to the ferry crossing . We bid our farewells to those using the channel tunnel, as we continue to Rotterdam to catch our ferry. Having safely stowed our bikes, time to make for the bar and enjoy another evening’s entertainment on this overnight ferry. Once again all meals are included.
Day 10: Sunday 13th July The ferry docks at 0800 hrs, giving us just time to have breakfast and bid farewell before making our way home.
Please be aware that although we research our tours thoroughly, due to time restraints, we have been unable to personally recce certain sections of the route.

Insurance
On all European tours (including Southern Ireland) we require clients to take
out some form of Personal Travel and Accident/Breakdown cover. This is
essential for repatriation of yourself and your motorcycle in the event of an
accident or medical emergency. We can offer cover through Gold Cover Insurance
Services Ltd, a company that have specialised in travel insurance for many years
and are used by many Motorcycle Tour Operators.
It is not a condition of your tour that you use our insurance; we only offer this as a service to our clients.
